Ingredients
The same alpine botanical recipe as standard Braulio — a mountain-herb formula devised by the Bormio pharmacist Francesco Peloni — given a considerably longer maturation in large Slavonian oak casks in the cellars beneath Bormio.
- ✦Gentian root
- ✦Yarrow
- ✦Wormwood
- ✦Juniper berries
- ✦Absinthium
- ✦Alpine mountain pine
History of the Brand
Braulio was created in 1875 by Francesco Peloni, a Bormio herbalist working with plants gathered from the Stelvio slopes.
The Riserva expression takes the same infusion and leaves it far longer in the big Slavonian oak botti under the town, softening the pine-sap bite.
Bormio's cold, stable cellar climate slows extraction, which is why the Riserva reads rounder rather than simply woodier.
It has become the collector's Braulio: the bottle Alpine bartenders pour neat rather than mix.
Tasting Characteristics
Pine sap, dried mint, cold stone and a whisper of vanilla from the cask.
Deeper and rounder than standard Braulio — juniper, wormwood, sweet oak and menthol.
Long, cooling, faintly medicinal.

Braulio Riserva FAQ
How is Braulio Riserva different from standard Braulio?
+
Same botanical recipe, considerably longer maturation in Slavonian oak, which rounds the pine and menthol edges and adds soft vanilla.
Should you mix Braulio Riserva?
+
Most drinkers pour it neat, but it makes an excellent Alpine Negroni or Black Manhattan variation if you want to spend the bottle.
